No, you don't have to, but you can if you want. Maybe shorten the name so when the baby grows up a little it can spell its own name like Dan or Sue.. Good luck with your retarded baby.

NO, why would you do that? You picked the name for that child. My friend once, had a miscarriage at 3 months, and had already picked out a name that she loved. When she got pregnant again, a couple years later, she chose not to use that name. When asked why, she said, because that was the name that she had chosen for her unborn child, and wanted to bestow a unique, personal name for her new child. So, I would not change a child's name at all. You picked it for them, it's theirs.

Okay, first of all, what would ever give you that impression? No, the mental state of your child has no bearing on what you name it. It's up to you what to name your child..healthy or not.
