he's the best offensive player right now, but I would stop short of calling him the best player in the world.

I will agree that he is the best basketball player in the world. He has more talent than anyone out there, and probably of all time. He didn't have the heart and unbelievable ability to make his team better that MIchael had, but based on talent, he would be the best of all time. Talent isn't everything tho. He is the best in the world, not the most dominating, dont get that confused. Shaq is the most dominating and most valuable to a team. Kobe is, without question, the best basketball player in the world.

yep. he is. plain and simple he is.

i know a lot of people hate him. but what player in the L is leading his team into the playoffs with a supporting cast that he has (odom and walton have missed chunks of the season). which nba player can u honestly say wants to take and WILL hit the game winning shot, will make the key defensive stop, will pass up shots to an average team for the benifit of the team, and is durable in an 82 game season?

kobe at the moment is the best player in the world. compare him to Lebron and Wade of you like. both the Cavs and the Heat have a better support cast. both teams have players ready to contribute NOW. unlike the lakers who are waiting on some of their players to develop.

there isnt a player in the L at the moment who you can compare to kobe, simply because no player does all that was previously mentioned. wade and tmac are often injured, lebron cant hit the clutch shot or the FT's...who else is there?

i know people dont like to hear it, and i have never been a huge fan. but u have to sit up and take notice of his achievements. he is the ONLY reason the lakers are competitive. he is the player the L and others love to hate because of his past.....get over it

I am tired of people debating about Kobe. He is a good player but will never be the best. Just leave it at that.

I will agree with you. I know a lot of people hate him, but I don't personally know him, so therefore I can't judge in that aspect. All I know is that the man can play basketball. That's all I see him do and so that's all I can judge him on. He's the best.
