Good girl! You got it right. That's how it ought to be when you can't feel it.

If you can get a good grip on the string to remove it, then it's fine. The string is way longer than it needs to be even if you inserted the tampon as far as the applicator will let you do it. Don't worry about it and stop fiddling with it. The string won't break when you remove it. It's sewn into the tampon itself.

If it doesn't hurt and you're confident you've got it in the vaginal opening, then you've done it correctly.

When you insert one, first try to relax (easier said than done, I know). Then visualize where the small of your back is, just above your bum. This is where you should "point" the tampon, and insert slowly. Be sure to insert it far enough so that you get past the muscle at the entrance. If you need to, push it in with your middle or index finger. When the palm of your hand touches the pubic area, you should stop.

Once you're done, give a little tug on the string. If it's securely in place, it shouldn't hurt or pinch.

The diagrams on the brochure in the box are usually really good at describing your body and how the tampon will fit.

If it's far enough in you shouldn't feel it and you can still see the string so, to answer your question yes you did it right. Before you insert the tampon gently tug on the string to make sure it is secure and then insert. There is a chance it will get stuck but don't get concerned the chances of that happening are minimal and even if you can't remove it your doctor can. There isn't anything the doctor can't remove or hasn't seen before.

Tampons shouldn't hurt. I mean, why would they make tampons if it was meant to hurt, right? To make sure you have it in correctly everytime, keep your knees bent when you're inserting it. If it hurts when when you put it in, take it out and try again with a new one.

The vagina isn't an endless tunnel, it stops SOMEWHERE so the tampon doesn't go that far in, nor is it long enough to really go deep.

The string won't break on you, it's there to help you take it out.

It hurts because your V$%ina is too dry. Try running some water over or placing lubrication over the tampon first. It could not be going in far enough because it is too long. I have that problem with Tampax and I'm 30 years old. Different women are different depths inside. Try going with a different brand of tampon. Different brands are different lengths. Playtex are really short. Also, the applicator on Playtex is slick so it won't hurt.

Relax, there is an unpleasant, but a way to solve this... It is totally gross, but finger for the tapon, and when you find it remove and try again, you shouldn't be able to feel it, and unless you have a long applicator or finger, then you shouldn't be able to have a problem getting it too high out of reach... If worse comes to worse, a physican is there to help you with that. I had that worry me before, and it turns out when I slowly began to tug on the string it came out, but I couldn't feel it, because it had so much liquid surrounding it, so it slimed out! I know this isn't really pleasant to talk about, but I certainly hope this helps you... Good luck!

If you can't feel it, you are probably doing it right. It has to go in there pretty far. The string will not break. It goes through the middle of the entire tampon and it is really well secured.

Yes, you've done it right. When you feel it it's either full or up there incorrectly or it's really dry in there and you're almost done menstrating. It's cool, it took me a really long time to master tampons. A few tries and you should have it perfect. Start with smaller sizes first and then work your way up. I think mainly the best kind are the medium sized.

I am assuming you are using the applicator versions which are easier to put in place. I don't think it can go too far as the applicator mechanism usually determines how far it can go. It shouldn't hurt though when inside. Maybe use pads instead if you are having difficulty with tampons. Or talk to a health nurse as they are there to help on all sorts of issues including this if necessary.

You musn't use them if your are a virgin.

The string won't break, and if you don't feel anything then that's good. When you place a tampon in its not supposed to hurt and the string should hang out.
