First of all, yes, there is a chance you could be pregnant if you had unprotected sex. There is no birth control out there that is 100% fool proof (not even having your tubes tied...some people have still gotten pregnant after that procedure)! So, there is a very small, but possible chance you could be pregnant. Then again, you may be late because something stressful happened to you about one and a half to two weeks ago, which caused you to ovulate a little late (making your period come late as a result).

Second, get a pregnancy test at your local store and take it! If you can afford one, go to your local planned parenthood facility and have one taken for free...or go to the doctor and have them take one for you (where you'll probably only have to pay your co-pay if you have insurance).

Chances are low that you are pregnant...but you could be...and it is not safe to the pregnancy to continue taking the pill if you are pregnant! Good luck!

The pill will protect you both on the 21 days you take it, and the 7 pill free days. It is well over 98% reliable, but nothing is perfect. If you had any antibiotics or diarrhoeal illnesses the efficacy is reduced.

It is unlikely you are pregnant, but do a test anyway.

There is always that .02% chance that your pill didn't work. If you've been taking antibiotics, that chance will have increased slightly. I honestly wouldn't worry yet, but it may ease your mind to take a home test.

Planned parenthood told me that the pill wouldn't affect a baby that early on. I think you've got about 6 weeks before whatever you eat or drink or take enters the baby's system.

I dont know what affect continuing taking the pill will have, but why don't you make an appointment to see your doctor, and put your mind at rest by getting some proper advise.

The more you worrry - the more chance that your body will play tricks on you. Best to speak to an expert.

Hope it all works out OK for you. :o)

The pill should still be in your system. I think it's in your system for 2 weeks. The pill shouldn't affect you if you are pregnant.
