well, contrary to sgt. whatever, pharmacist have 6 years of intense training on DRUGS and PHARMACOTHERAPY which means we have to learn all the disease states, their treatments, their side effects, and so much more i can't even list it all! When i was on rotations, i was with doctors all day in a hospital setting. They came to me for reccommendations for medication and dosing and regimines. this is happening in hospitals all over the US, your private practice doctor is kind of swinging and missing, everyday i get drugs that don't exist, made up strengths, incorrect dosing... there are so many affordable drug choices out there and the top 200 drugs are basically the drugs from the last 5 years, if a pharmacist would work collaboratively with an MD or a DO then you would see far less errors and better therapy. We are DOCTORS of pharmacy for a reason and i hope this movement is made very soon!

This is the trend in American pharmacy. More and more states are allowing pharmacist to prescribe by protocol. Your average pharmacist does know more than your average MD about medications. Most MDs if asked will admit to a rather poor understanding of pharmacology.

That's the way its done in some countries including Russia.
I would trust a pharmacist more than a physician because the pharmacist is more in touch with drugs, alternative drugs, generics and most important, drug interactions.

A pharmacist if I had to take medicine.
Doctors don't even know how to read lab reports, they have to go down to the "lowly techs" and ask them to explain the results. Then they have to run back to the office and hopefully they've got it right.
Doctors get a kickback for every prescription they write, they know what they're told by the salespeople.

Yes. Pharmacists have 4 years of pharmacology and patho-physiology education . They are more than qualified to prescribe medications.

there is not any might desire to prescribe them, they're are not any prescription organic supplementations of any form. All may well be completely over the counter. they are in a position to actual propose which you're taking them in the event that they verify that's a good option. Prescriptions refer in basic terms to non-over the counter drugs. in case you're speaking approximately marijuana, it extremely is completely a different tale, because of fact medical marijuana is against the regulation in maximum places. Plus, it would not somewhat matter type as a organic supplement. (i'm no longer assuming you're, yet purely in case ;)
