Are you familiar with cats? When you meet a cat for the first time, it doesn't just jump in your lap does it? It sniffs your hand, watches you, and slowly starts to get to know you. When it does, it will purr and play and rub on you like you have known it for years. You may be the same way in that you need to warm up to new people for a while before you are comfortable with them.

Me too. I think it's good. Is it OK? Is it normal? Oh No I so don't want to be normal. But wait, I am not sure I would be outgoing with people you know very well because I don't know them very well. If you know them well then I might be OK with them. Yipes! I don't know you either, I feel paranoid regression coming on. What I said? Are we going to be OK now that we got all of this out on the table. I'm so glad you asked this question, I'm going to go hide in the closet until you and your friends get here. No, I just mentioned all the people I don't know. OK I'm going to hide in front of the TV until I get here.

I'm in between. I can be either shy or outgoing depending on the situation and circumstances.

I like to meet new people, but in social situations I tend to be quiet, which is wierd because I'm not usually uncomfortable, just getting a feel for the people and the situation. Otherwise, as you say, I am outgoing. Dunno if the rest is shy.
