Go to the bathroom more? hadn't heard that one. There are several factors why women are paid less than men. Women tend to choose careers that they think will make them happy and help others for example teachers, nurses, Independent living assistants, etc., all rewarding career choices that are not paid their worth. Women birth and raise children (with the help of hubby's hopefully) some have to take time off for troubled pregnancies. Women are less likely to ask for a raise and generally more likely to stay put due to finances, more women than men work part time. The list goes on but no where on the list is drama the cause, or lower productivity due to bathroom frequencies. Sorry no drama here

No, that is not the reason women make less than men. In fact, what you just spewed isn't even fact. I am in an environment where I am the only woman working with about 50 guys, and let me tell you honey, I have never seen and heard more bitching, whining, gossiping, complaining, laziness, calling sick b/c of hangovers, and the DRAMA! Women get the shaft because they always have!

Wow that is a chauvinistic attitude and I think the reason women make less money is because of men just like you who have the mentality. I know a lot of men that call in sick, take time off from work when their kids are sick...go to the bathroom almost hourly and no one ever seems to accuse them of low productivity. Maybe it's because women multi-task and they get SO MUCH DONE in a much shorter time that the men paying them think they are goofing around.

Its because of the choices they make careerwise. A makeupartist gets payed less than most ceos.
Baba Yaga you are typing away as if American women are entiteld to taxdollars for raising children. Putting moms on the payroll toegether with fiermen judges and the like ?
While Iam very gratefull for the benefits parents get it is a 2 edged sword. ALL those benefits are payed out of taxeuros, euros which the population pays, so it is basically moving 1 euro from one pocket in the other. Taxes should be kept as low as possibel.
Iceprincess, did it ever occour to you, that the fact that fathers or husbands support their wifes is the reason women are happy with less money and willing for less money, instead of putting it all in a malicious scheme in which you can feel all victimized ranting agains zhe "old boys network" ?

Actually in studies done , men are the culprits of long bathroom breaks, calling in sick, and creating drama at work. Those who take time off for maternity leave are not paid. Ask a man to take time off for any medical reason and he will immediately want to ensure he is getting a pay check. Based on your reasoning, what about the woman who decides on a career and remains single, she is a hard charger, meets company guidelines as well as any works she has to do is done ahead of schedule. Why does she receive less pay? She is there every day and contributing more than most of the men.
Men are the weaker sex when it comes to stamina, sure they can lift more weight, but can they take pain? Not at all. Most men are big babies when it comes to pain.

Basically it's because there are still plenty of women who are willing to work for that little, It's supply and demand. One important point: workers provide the supply; employers provide the demand. Yes, there's still a lot of sexism in the workplace, but it's a bit more complicated than that. Men are less willing to work for little, and that forces their employers to pay them more.

No dipwad, Men have always set the payscale for women. They always assumed that men still controled us and women always had a man, either a father or a husband, so if a women was not married, she was still in her father's household and therefore she did not need to be paid vwery much because her Father supported her, if she was married, then her husband supported her, so she did not need to be paid much, you see, this society is controled by men, and so it is the men that pay women, the mentality is therefore, that women don;t need an income, so when you marry a women to make ends meet and can't figure out why she can't bring enough home to make ends meet, you only have men to blame.

No. It's because most men think that higher paying jobs aren't qualified to work in higher paying positions because of their sex.

Fortunately you will never be in a position to have the power to make decisions about how anyone should be paid.
