well, some of the characters such as Abigail Williams are aged in the Crucible. She is like 18 in the play and much younger in the actual Salem Witch Trials. Also, Arthur Miller creates a love conflict. John Proctor is cheating on Elizabeth Proctor, his wife. Abigail Williams loves John Proctor. there was no conflict of love between abby and john or elizabeth in history. Check out wikipedia.org

I don't think there was any historical backing to John Proctor and Abigail being ever romantically involved. I think that was all just added for drama.
Also, check the ages of everybody - maybe some of those were a little off? Like, of the girls? Can't remember. Great read, though.

Try Spark Notes and Wikipedia.
The Arthur Miller story is just that a story. Made up characters and supposedly based on 2 events the witch trials in Massachusetts back during the Pilgrim era and the Communist trials taking place in D.C.
Arthur Miller was a lousy story teller I am surprised they are making you read that trash. His only claim tofame was he married Marilyn Monroe. I guess that is what made him famous.

You could make your thesis the last sentence of what you already wrote, and just give it some more sentences in the middle. It's probably best to not list the allusions/parallels in the the intro. Then use one allusion per body paragraph. The intro is good so far!

Abigail Williams was eleven or twelve, and John Proctor was 60. There's no way they could have been in love. Also, Abigail was never a maid. She was Elizabeth Parris's couson.
