I have a Dell latitude {with mouse pad attached to use with finger} and sometimes for no reason the pointer will just go haywire all across the screen and I can't get it back and have to shut the laptop to get it working again, also I'll be typing a report or what not and the blinker will just move to another part of the page and I end up typing in the wrong spot and in the middle of other sentences...Anyone know why? and how to stop it?

touch pads are continually finicky on the better of circumstances. If that is 3 years previous that asserts lots. that is wiped out. Disable it and use a known mouse. in the journey that your pc has have been given a green colored playstation /2 socket then get a mouse with that connection by using fact it fairly is a mouse devoted socket. If no longer then get a client-friendly USB mouse.
