Hint number One: When you get gum to chew, realize that with some kinds of gum--like bubble gum--the bigger pieces tend to have more flavor in them, but that it isn't always so with chewing gum or gumballs...but what is true is that the bigger the piece of gum, the more your jaw works to chew it and the more quickly it will get sore.

Hint number Two: gum is meant to be disposable. Meaning, you are supposed to chew it until the flavor runs out, maybe a wee bit longer until you can make it to a trashcan, and *then you spit it out*. It sucks I know. ^_^ Anymore, unless you snag some old-school Bazooka Joe or something, you just *can't* expect a single piece of gum to last a whole hour.

Instead, you have to get at least two pieces, start the one, and then when the first runs out of flavor, start on the second, spitting both pieces out at the end of an hour or so.....It makes a bigger wad of gum, and therefore makes that jaw pain more likely, but what can you do?

Anyone have any other bright ideas, like combining chewing gum with breath mints or jawbreakers? Something's got to work better than this....

You know what's worse with gum! When it turns into paste and you litterally throw it up, BLA!
