Decorating easter eggs is a great way to keep kids busy.
I also suggest make mini easter baskets for the kids to give to each other. They can decorate them how the want and put whatever they want in them and then give them to one and other.
Another idea is to have an easter egg hunt. Get plastic eggs and fill them with candy, little toys, etc., and hide them around your house or yard and then have the kids look for them. This keeps them busy because they'll be pre-occupied with find the eggs.

hope this helps,

Chicks in a Nest

You need:

Brown Yarn (cotton works the best)
Three 1" Yellow Pom Pom
Orange Craft Foam
Six Wiggley Eyes
One Small Round Balloon
Liquid Starch
Tacky Glue
Scissors
Bowl
Newspapers
Instructions:

Blow up balloon to about 4". Tie off. Use a piece of yarn to hang it over your work area. (We worked on the kitchen counter and hung our balloon from a cabinet knob.) Place newspaper under balloon to catch drips.

Pour a cup of Liquid Starch into an old bowl. Cut several 4' pieces of yarn and place them into the starch. Make sure each strand is coated evenly with starch.

Wrap starched yarn pieces around balloon in all directions until balloon is covered to look like filigree. Cut and dip as many pieces of yarn as you need. There will be empty spots where the balloon shows through. Let dry overnight.

Cut down your yarn covered balloon. Pop the balloon and pull it out. Cut the yarn ball in half. You may want to set one half of the nest inside of the other for a fuller looking nest or use each half to make one nest.

Cut six small triangles for beaks. Glue two on to each pom pom to make it look like the chick's mouth is open. Glue on eyes. Place the chicks into the nest.

Backyard Mural

Take artistic ventures outdoors and transform an old white sheet into a monumental canvas. CRAFT MATERIALS:
Old bedsheet
Tempera paints
Paint brushes
Sponges
Squirt bottles

Time needed: Under 1 Hour
1. Start by soaking an old sheet in water and then hanging it on a clothesline or draping it over a fence.

2. Get out various tempera paints and applicators -- sponges, paintbrushes, squirt bottles -- and go at it, creating pictures, tic-tac-toe grids, or just colorful designs. You can also mute and mix colors with a water-filled spray bottle.

3. Whenever you don't like what you see, simply hose down the canvas and start over. For art on a smaller scale, try the same techniques with a pillowcase or an old T-shirt.

Make PlayDoh from flour and salt with water.. or just buy clay for them to build things with. Feeding kids usually keeps them quiet. veggie platter with ranch dressing, make them pancakes then let them make faces with different types of veggies like string beans and cherry tomatoes .:)
