Do you keep taking a stand (confronting them about it) or just ignore them? And, what if it's somebody you can't really ignore (like a close family member). What do you do?

don't listen to them and do what you want to do.

Keep taking a stand, get more and more aggressive after each failed attempt. Try to push them away if they don't take the hint, if they don't move then escape having to be near them.

Or kill them. Killing solves all.

You should always confront anyone with whom you have issues. Even if it's someone close to you; don't ever take mess from ANYONE!! If you don't, then they'll keep doing what they're doing.
