In my opinion the BBC should be delivering quality programs on their stations ie BBC1, BBC2, and not spending license money on other stations that are inane ie CBBs (if I got that right).
Funding television stations like that are not the domain of the BBC nor the way to spend public money, if that is the path they are taking then they should be self funding.

The BBC makes a lot of money from its overseas stations . It runs a company called BBC worldwide which part owns the UKTV satellite channels which run advertising as do a lot of there overseas channels . So they actually cut down on the Licence fee.

As for CBBC all the programs shown are programs made for BBC 1 & 2 for early morning and after school viewing. They are then shown on CBB so nothing is made for this channel If they did'nt have a dedicated kids channel kids would not watch the BBC at all they would stick to Nick or the cartoon network . This way the BBC are providing quality competiton to the independent channels and gaining hopefully life long viewers.

We should be thankful for the BBC how bad would TV be without it. The compettion is now so bad ITV is just blantanty ripping off its ideas. Strickly come dancing (BBC) ITV rip off Dancing on ice . Who do you think you are (BBC) ITV rip off You never had it so good. Cash in the attic (BBC) ITV rip off Dickensons deals. Theres something about Maria (BBC) ITV NEW rip off Grease lighting looking for the new cast of grease and to top it all the BBC is ads free,

I assume by "inane studios" you mean the BBC digital channels, so I can't agree with you on that. I have a little niece who is four years old and she has been watching CBeebies for the last 2 years and absolutely loves it. I expect that soon she'll be getting into CBBC as well.

I have to say also, that I watch BBC3, BBC4 and BBC News 24 just as much as I watch BBC 1 or 2 these days as well. So as far as I'm concerned its licence money well spent. BBC 4 and News 24 have particularly high quality content, and BBC3 certainly has its moments.

Considering the digital switch over is happening soon and everybody will be able to get these great channels in addition BBC 1 and 2 + all the BBC radio stations for the price of their licence fee, it seems like an excellent deal to me.

The BBC has always been like this - they use the money to fund channels abroad ( BBC Overseas ) etc and put a load of rubbish and game shows on home channels.
I gave it up years ago, I don't watch it , I don't want it and I don't pay for it. I went to court and won - TV is an option not a necessity

Yes and what about all the overseas programmes. Why the hell are we paying for those.

And all the crap digital radio stations with an audience of about 3.
Its a disgrace. Programmes like life on Mars are too few and far between.

Yeah your right that target audience don't pay any licence fees so why should they get the benefits of it and there are plenty of channels catering for there needs which is not hard to meet.

Why should have to pay and most of the parents don't even pay the fees
