I would just be honest. When filling out the application(s), under last jobs worked, put your volunteer experience, just make sure that you put you were a volunteer. When you go in for an interview, tell the manager/Interviewer that you don't have any previous work experience, but you would like to learn from their company.

It also helps if you are a hard worker, and always do your best to come in to work on time.

Confidence... Be confident to the point of acting like you can do their job. Confidence and believing in yourself is half of everything. They will know you are a beginner because of your age, unless you are old, and/or your resume. If you are older and there is not a lot of stuff on your resume they may think you are ommitting jobs you got fired from or did something wrong at.

If that is not the case just get all up in their grill. You have to be hungary. If you do not have skills then you have to act a little desperate. Think about it.... do whatever you have to to get the first couple of jobs, then after you get the experience under your belt you can do whatever you want and act all J Cool in the interview... because you will know that your all that. Right now you are some nobody.... I turn away 100's of people like you everyday that want entry level positions. All people with no experience are generally the same, I either pick the on that I think can handle pressure the best or the one that I think I can mold the most and will follow directions the best.

Also, you have to consider what you are applying for. If you have no xp and no college or provable skills and you are trying to work at NASA then you have a job. If you want computer jobs you can commonly forego normal schooling as long as you can prove your skill with programs you have written. If you want a general office job, secretary whatever, sometimes it is harder to get hired as a man.

Men have it hard at the beginning for low level jobs, but much easier later on when getting high up. But women get in easy and then hit the glass ceiling. I hope this helps... WAIT! I know this will help... SEE?!? Confidence is the key.

I work from home for a wonderful company that is a member of the BBB, offers full training, and supports me every step of the way. I set my own hours and answer to no one. If you enjoy helping others, working on the computer, and are interested in making your home a safer place as well, it may be for you. Visit my profile if you are interested.

Sweetie -
You have work experience......not paid experience, but volunteer experience IS WORK experience.

Just put those down on your resume and IF possible
get letters of recommendation from the volunteer coordinators......that will show what type of a worker you are.

Good luck
