Why can't anyone hear me on msn messenger?

i have a recentley purchased laptop with vista home premium, and no matter what mike i have connected( built in, headset or web cam) I can't be heard, i can hear others no problem and the web cam works for video.
Is there a problem with vista and if so how can i fix it?

probably something up with ur mic, take it to the shop and get it checked.

Try buying a computer mic instead of a real mic. It will work better for you.
