I had previously asked a question about staring. I was in an exam with 400 other people basically sitting in a front seat and I was not sitting where I could cheat off of anyone. I suddenly look up and my prof was just staring at me with an expressionless face. I stared back and gave him a dirty look since he didn't look away. I did horribly on that test because all I wanted to do was get out of there. When I go to hand in my test paper to him, he completly ignores me so I hand it in to his assistant.
We recently had another test in this class. This time he wears eye glasses which he never has and I sit in the middle of our theatre to avoid any type of this staring. When I finish my test I get up from my seat and he is standing in the aisle that I am sitting in and turned my way as I am leaving my seat.
I didn't even look at him this time but is this just inappropriate or am I still reading in to this too much? Why would he be doing this??

I wanted to ask him the first time I was staring if I did anything wrong but he wouldn't even look at me. I probrebly shouldn't have given him a dirty look but it made me very uncomfortable and affected my grade on that test.

You challenged him. This is common male behavior. Similarly to the way government opposes gang activity, which represents a geographical location and has "flags" or gang colors and hankerchiefs to represent their area, but yet different nations have flags and go to war just the same. It's natural animal behavior. When you stare an animal in the face, you've challenged him. He, as a teacher, knows you as inferior, and by not looking away, you showed confidence, from now on he's probably going to be threatened by your prescence. If it suits your confidence, I'd keep it up. Better to be thought more of than less of, but if your grades suffer because of this primitive interaction, I'd do the human thing and talk it out with him, holding my ground never supplicating, simply stating facts and being businesslike and professional. Study people like Donald trump, and how they deal with and talk to people. You'll go far when people actually respect you as a human personality rather than simply trying to excel in your current position. Scarface was a good example of this. People were always telling him "Tony, you can't do that!" but he knew he belonged in a place much higher than where he actually was, and he got there, and everyone else stayed in their same rut. So what does that tell you about who was right in that situation? Now look, don't be afraid. If you want something, Get it. ASSERT YOURSELF. If you want to ask him something, Ask him. Make him know of your presence, if he wants to be rude that's one thing, but let him know that the faculty will hear if we're having a problem member in the learning institution. Teachers aren't allowed to be moody in a way that a student can, it's unprofessional and he can get in trouble for not wanting to talk it out with you if you so bring it to him to do so. You have the power in this situation, all he has is the leeway of your grade. But that can be negotiated. Trust me, you'll be fine when you advance confidently in the direction of what it is you want.

why would he b doing that?
man sounds positively nuts or paranoid.
he's the adult, ur the kid supposedly he should b behaving like a grown-up.
but from what u've said above, he seems a tad over-reacting 2 some perceived slight u did 2 him by out-staring him.
better get it over with & first chance u get ask him.
" what's ur problem & sorry about the staring, i only did it coz u were staring at me! exams make me nervous & i act accordingly, by staring ".
hopefully he'll let out a nervous laugh & that'll b the end of it.
this is ur education & it's important so don't let 1 silly Prof ruin it 4 u.
talk 2 him & stay calm, see if u can sort this out & put it behind u.

Do you have some sort of inferiority complex? The Prof was probably just staring into space and bored rigid - you giving him a dirty look probably made him wonder what on earth he'd done... and secondly, you getting up to leave your seat probably made him turn.... I think this sounds like something and nothing... are you a drama student? :)

He could have been doing what we call "El Oho" or the evil-eye. Could there be a reason he didn't want you to pass?
Or.. he coluld have been lost in his own dismal thoughts, or probably even thinking "Why is this student staring at me?"

Ask him....
He might have been in a complete trance - invigilating is very boring.
Maybe he was trying to pass you the answers telepathically.
Point is - only he knows the answer...

Don't let him psych you out. If he has a problem with you, it's his problem, not yours. If he doesn't confront you with it directly and overtly, you're not obliged to get caught up in this kind of silly psychology game.
