Someone posted a great answer to my last question. It was the 2nd or 3rd time this user posted an outstanding answer to one of my questions. I was disappointed again to see this user has not email link.
A lot of the enjoyment in this board is to have further conversations with people who stand out and have strong views on the issues that are based on real knowledge.
Why do so many users here prefer not to active the email link?

Maybe Y!A could add a spam filter to the email link so you could filter out people you don't want to hear from.

I initially did not, for privacy reasons. I didn't enable until I wanted to send someone a message. It wasn't until then that I realized that people could hide their address even when you enable. I just didn't want my address floating around - I get enough spam. Some people are very protective of their personal information on the internet.

I also am disappointed when a user doesn't have a 360 site when I want to see more about them, but I understand why they don't. The people that I have connected to my 360 have been great resources, though.

I also have been enjoying the connect to this user option. It allows me to see when you've asked a question that I want to answer, or just see what others have answered.

there is many times little reason to respond to the question with a logical good concept out respond must you disagree with the view of the asker. i attempt to respond all questions with a professional reaction besides the fact that once you disagree, I become with 8 thumbs down and specific did no longer convince somebody to settle for my standpoint. maximum questions approximately listed right here are ideologically located and have no stunning or incorrect its all opinion, and as a effect no longer hassle-free to get any credit once you're of the dissenting view. So in case you will get shot down in any case, why no longer purely insult the mf-er.... precise?

I think it is a nice feature that Yahoo Answers makes it more like the private message feature on message boards so that your private email is not revealed.

I do agree that sometimes I read a superlative answer and would like to tell the poster that it was awesome or discuss it in more depth with the poster.

I don't know about that person but my reason for not having an e-mail link is the people. There are a lot of freaks and many people that I wish not to contact them or have them contact me. You could add the person as a contact so you can get more great answers from them.

Aslan- Thank you. I like your questions too and I would like to chat with you.

Because the anonymity of the internet can allow trouble makers to get into someone's personal business. If you don't allow people to e-mail you, it's not that they're necessarily cowards, but that they enjoy their privacy, which is a hot topic when it comes to such subjects as "The Patriot Act", and others.

Many people don't post their contact information because of the large quantity of ignorant people on here. They don't want the extremists who disagree with them to harass them. Sometimes even though you post an intelligent answer, there are those who disagree so strongly, that they take your answer as a personal affront.

There are lot of people who value their privacy and do not want to be harrassed by someone who disapproves of their views. No matter what your views are, there is someone out there who is willing to send you 100 emails from 100 different yahoo accounts all telling you to die or that you are an idiot or something like that.

Two Reasons;

1 - SPAM
2 - I cannot view my Yahoo e-mail at work.

This is a good reason to have a 360.
