They don't. But since they are the only ones who don't want to change Christianity to suit their own needs, it just seems that way to some people.

Nope your right some don't but is it the Conservative Christians that out give of their own money and time compare to liberals.

I guess some talk great things about doing things for the poor and other just do it.

Thats the problem with including Christianity - or any religion, for that matter - in a political campaign. There is no place for religion in politics...as it is very subjective. Interpretations abound, and the whole notion gets scewed.

I think that a candidate who follows Christian teachings is a fine thing, but as soon as they include the faith in their campaign, they lose my support. A true Christian would not engage in smear campaigns and mudslinging...

You sound like one of those people who pick and choose the parts of the bible that suit you in order to fit your lifestyle. That's not the intent of what's in there. You either have to take it as a whole or not at all. Quit giving into making the bible into what you would have it, rather than having God making you into how He would have you.

All the extreme branches of religion think they are the true believers, the backbone of the religion, but they are not. They are just a bunch of fanatics who make themselves much more visible then the normal rational people in the religion.
