The biggest one they like to bring up is Affirmative Action. They speak about it as if unqualified, black felons are given positions as CEO's. They fail to realize that White women are the biggest beneficiaries of Affirmative Action, yet I never hear them claiming a white woman is an "Affirmative Action Employee." Even if, you lost your job to a less qualified black applicant(this never the case), that would mean you are the Worst White applicant that your white boss was looking to get rid of. Nextly, they like to whine about how there are no "White Clubs." Where is the NAAWP? Oh, Boo HOO. White is not a culture, there are clubs for White ethnic groups, like the Scottish rite, French club, Italian club, etc. It is no ones fault but your own that you are too ashamed to celebrate your culture; don't blame Blacks or the Mexicans. You people are the Majority doesn't it get tired blaming everybody else for your countries problems the last 200 plus years, just a little bit? Get over it

Mash, African-American is a culture, unique in and of itself. As for those states that you mentioned, no white people are not the majority(they do not make up over 50% of the population), however, they are the largest minority in a non-majority state. Just look it up for yourself.

ALE3, I never said were White, but it is obvious that you wish you were. Trying to play up your German, Irish and Native American roots(anything to reduce your blackness), with 'very light skin' good for you boy. Maybe you can do some more of White America's bidding for them. Here is a link on how condescending racist love people like yourself, who desperately want to be accepted as members of the 'superior race'.

Amara, come again. You said: 'why do some black people preach about how they want to be seen and treated as equals and not be judged by their skincolor' SEEN as Equals!? We are at least your equals, whether you accept it or not.

Amara, once again you are the ignorant one I saw the word TREATED, do you think you are doing me some favor by treating the way I deserve to be? PLEASE.

You know what I love?

The anger and the hatred that these idiots are spewing because they can't stand to hear about the truth.

I commend you for your boldness, as I don't think I have the nerve to say such a thing.

For everyone who claims that whites (or white MALES) are a minority...I beg of you to look at CEOs and every single president of the Untied States and tell me why you believe that white males should benefit from Affirmative Action. I dare you.

Also, for those of you who claim that for the love of god you can't understand why blacks have special programs if we want to be considered equals. Hello? These programs exist IN ORDER TO help us become equal! In order to level the playing field, there must be the act of leveling! Bringing one group up while the other group has to go down a little. That's why it's called "LEVELING the playing field"! Is it really that hard for people to understand?

But do you know what I really really love?

How the same people who benefit from the cruelties that this country was built upon curse at the group of people that was shitted on and spat on for centuries and call their causes useless and complain about them "whining". It's so entirely sickening, yet so entirely hilarious!

For those of you who will give me a thumbs down, I have several questions for you:

1) Name one reason why you need a White History Month.
2) Name one reason why you need a National Association for the Advancement of White People.
3) Name one reason why you need a White Entertainment Television.

You can't, can you?

Do you know why you can't? Sadly, you don't. But I'll let you in on something:

This country caters to whites and those who live in the white culture, thus giving them their own special priviledge. This is why you do not need these "white" organizations.

You're welcome.

People whining in general is annoying no matter who they are. Everyone has their share of obstacles to overcome. Whining helps no one. It only divides and causes tension. When race is noted at all, its causeing division.

"It demeans true minority achievement; i.e. success is labeled as result of affirmative action rather than hard work and ability."

There is a side of this that no one has yet commented on. I've heard black people complain about affirmative action. Why? Here's an example. A black woman in college who worked really hard and got good grades was used to hearing "Oh you're here because of affirmative action." She hated it. Because she was there because of her grades, not some program. She felt affirmative action had belittled her.

Thats the demeaning side of affirmative action. Its liberals looking down from their high positions... "Oh you poor person...you could never make it on your own... " Can't you see how condescending and racist that is?? Affirmative action is essentialy saying "You need help. You don't have the skills to make it to suceed on your own."

Here's an interesting list of the pros and cons:

Here's a thought a friend mine brought up the other day: why do some black people preach about how they want to be seen and treated as equals and not be judged by their skincolor, which is good, and then turn around and ask for priveleges from the gov't because they're black? (and BTW, no, I don't feel like white people should have special programs too. I don't feel that any race should. We should all advance in life based on our skills, etc. and not our skincolor) Hello, quotas for minorities in universities, scholarships for blacks only? I remember taking a survey in high school, and the only question asked about ethnicity was if a person was of African American descent, and it stated that if you were you were eligible for scholarships and benefits. Another thing: if a white person or any person loses a job to any person that is less qualified, black or otherwise, it isn't fair and it's certainly not equality. That's some black people asking to do half the work and get what many white people and some other ethnicities work hard for. If blacks want to be treated as equals then those that are ignorant need to act like it. Also, white people blaming everyone else for their problems? Some stupid ones do, but it goes both ways. Do you know how many times I've heard a black person blame the white man for their problems when most are self-caused? The Jewish people suffered greatly from the Holocaust, but yet today are some of the most financially successful people in the world. How did they do this? They busted their a**es and didn't blame Germans for every problem they faced. They didn't need special programs to get where they are either. Some black people should go by their example. I'm not saying racism against blacks doesn't exist, but some blacks are certainly racist towards others as well. Just because a person is black and hateful towards a white person doesn't mean it isn't called racism. Oh and Mash is correct. Black isn't a culture either. Get your facts straight.
EDIT: How ignorant are you? Do you have selective reading now? I said, as you can read above I hope, seen AND TREATED AND NOT JUDGED. If you're going to complain about what I wrote it might be helpful if you bothered to read it in detail, not just skim over it. By the way, yes, I do see you as my equals. I believe you have the same capabilities I do. That's why I don't understand why you'd need help in certain areas, such as education as I mentioned, when you could get in with your own intelligent and fully-functioning mind if you worked as hard.
FINAL EDIT: I said that blacks wanting to be seen and treated as equals and not judged by skincolor in my answer was a good thing, and yet you still found a way to argue over it. I never said that I'm doing you a favor by treating you the way you deserve to be (you're putting words in my mouth so that there is something to argue over), but it is a good and respectful thing to do, and all people should treat each other that way. You're not only ignorant, but you're belligerent as well. I want equality for all people. You however seem to have feelings of hatred for white people that I hope you will someday be able to overcome.

First, yes I am real tired of Racism. Second, I am tired of people like you that believe every white person that , oh I mean white Male that mentions the wrong that is Affirmative action ya jump on a soap box and whine about the truth. White males are the minority by the way. everyone but the white male is profiting from AA and it goes ignored because no one wants to offend those people that cannot decide if they want to be called African Americans or not (which is not possible unless that person is born in AFRICA and moves to AMERICA), or a white female feels like her boss is sexist because he chose the best Black male over her. Oh, You thought I had to be White? Oh no, ya see I am still waitin' for my "Month" being a German-Irish-NATIVE AMERICAN-Black male with very light skin. By very light skin I am referring to the fact that i am Caucasian it is the Irish roots that are Black. I inverted it I apologize. If you do not know what Black Irish is look it up.
you are bent on attempting to glorify racism by denouncing your own racist views. One should think about what they say when attacking others. and I am still waiting for my Holiday Month. I wish you peace and hope you find a way to deal with your pent up emotions.

This is to you and Jubilant Sleep: I have worked with many Black men and Ladies and I have had many opportunities to have long conversations about these very issues. This is not the first time white males have been bashed and blamed for the things done by people that lived over two centuries ago. I have never oppressed anyone, I have never owned salves, and it can be proven that my ancestors were at one point indentured servants.
AA is a thing that should have been done away with years ago, welfare as well was meant to be very temporary. Our Government never intended to carry on its back any demographic (white, yellow, black, red, and on and on).
The Holidays invented to cater to any race only cause useless tension and these types of questions. NO RACE should be elevated above another in AMERICA. I am a SOLDIER and have seen people of every color die, bleed and go into harms way for this country, never one time did they give a puke about AA or a Holiday.

Yes I am tired about people whinning about Affirmative Action

but I have to correct you on the part saying white is not a culture. White American culture is just as much a culture as Black American culture.

The thing is because they are the majority of america there isn't the need to make something like a NAAWP or a white BET because they didn't need a group made to fight for equality and their wasn't a lack of people that look like them on tv

Um, hello?

Black is not a culture either. I don't see any Tanzanian Clubs, Somalian Clubs, or Nigerian Clubs in America.

Oh, and go to a state like California, Texas, Florida, Arizona and many others and you'll see that there seems to be more Hispanics than White people. White people are soon NOT going to be the majority, especially in terms of population.

White people shouldn't "whine" about racism, but NEITHER SHOULD BLACK PEOPLE. And I notice too many black people who play the race card whenever they don't get their way. I didn't say all, or even most. But everyone needs to stop focusing on their skin color, and start focusing on their attributes, skills, and virtues.

I'm sick of bickering like this over race in America. If I was to spout a rant like yours, here's how it would sound. Let's use my hatred of Mt. Rushmore and my atheism as an example:

You know, I'm going to celebrate my Native American culture tonight. I'm going to blow up Mt. Rushmore. It was carved into a sacred Indian mountain with the heads of 4 white men who helped to kill my people. I will never forgive them for wrongdoings committed centuries ago, and I can't stand seeing it on postcards all over this country. Even though I know I will probably kill innocent tourists and guardsmen, I feel it is just punishment for the slaughter of thousands of my ancestors. I'm also going to break into the U.S. Mint with the help of some of my atheist friends, kill off every worker, and reset the machines to print on every coin "In Lies We Trust".

This is why reverse racism doesn't work. If everyone felt the way you did, everything would be a target all over the country from the Statue of Liberty (Why couldn't it be a black woman) to the Space Needle in Seattle (It looks like a penis, I'm offended as a woman).

Take away affirmative action, piss off black people. Keep affirmative action, piss off white people. Do away with welfare, piss off every poor person in America. Embellish the welfare system, piss off the working middle class.

Nothing can be done in America anymore without pissing somebody off.
