I live in a tiny one room apartment. I have a pet fish right now, but I really want something furry to keep me company. Anyone have any ideas what would make a good pet in such a small living quarters?

Cats do just fine.

A cat or small dog would probably be best. A bigger dog will do okay in a small apartment as long as you are able to take it out for heavy exercise at least twice a day. I wouldn't recommend getting more than two pets, no matter what kind you decided to get. The more pets you have in such a small space, the more tension builds up between them.

I have three cats in a studio apartment. Yes it tis a bit cramped but I am moving into a one bedroom this week so we'll have more room. Cats are a great indoor pet.

I live in a very small one bedroom apartment, and I have a lab and a lab, rott, german shepherd mix. So both are going to be really big dogs.
But if you cant have big dogs in your apartment, you can always get a cat or a hamster or a rabbit.

A mouse. Funny and playful, and easy to manage. I have had a lot, and girls are the best to get. One of mine even jumped like a frog. But don't get wheels with metal hinges. Their tails could get cut off.

I am a cat person by nature..they are soft cuddly and sometimes affectionate, but a pet rat wouldn't be bad either.

I'd say a small rodent as long as it's female and you have good ventillation. Sometimes male rodents can STINK. Wee.

A couple of rats don't require much room and can be great pets.
