Who should you tell when you have a terminal illness?

Question

If you are going to die because of an illness sometime in the future (let's say 2-3 years), who should know? Obviously, family should know, but what about freinds? Should you just tell your close friends, or should your whole class know? Should you tell a friend who you don't expect to be in touch with by the time you die, or just the people you will be in touch with then? Should you wait until you're closer to dying, or should you tell people as soon as you find out?

Also, how would you go about telling someone? It seems almost like coming out; it's hard to tell people, but at the same time you want to tell them.

It seriously depends on the illness. Yes do tell your family as for your friends i would say don't schedule a time just let it happen. when the moment is right the words will come out.. your heart knows who you are close to and it will direct you to the people to tell... As for the 2-3 years prediction i would say Doctors are not always right and you can beat anything of you want to.

You should tell everyone your close to, including your family, friends and that's about it. Basically, anyone and everyone who means something to you should know. The rest can read about you in the obituary
