Eventually it will destroy the natural balance it's only a matter of time.

For the record, Global Warmnig is actualy been proven to be caused by the sun's activity and sun spots. Global Warming caused by humans is mostly a political agenda. However, Pollution is still detremental not only to the air we breather, but to the oceans we know so little about, not to mention the cutting down of trees, and bottom trawlers which have already destroyed an eco system of marine life in a mass the size of the U.S.. we have to stop destroying the world that is not ours, but is shared with so many various other species.

You should really check out the 11 episode mini-series Planet Earth on the Discovery Channel.. http://www.planet-earth.com

Like always someone will have the darn courage to stand up and do something... Al Gore's headed the right direction. but the thing we are doing is focusing on certain ideas more than others. As humans we tend to only pay attention to a problem once it has gotten out of hand(AIDs epedemic, global warming etc.)
Even though we all know that cutting trees and polluting water is something bad we don't really see as an immediate
problem. So, we don't do much. Also if you have seen those comercials in which they talk about this then you would understand what I mean.
One of the comercials(not sure who puts 'em out..) shows a girl trying to stop a factory from poluting a river. Though she does close down the factory as a result thousands suffer even more than they did when the factory was around... so it depends...

But..yes eventually we will see that we are killing this beautiful planet. But it might take a large event (tusami... people getting more and more sick... water levels rising causing floods) for us to realize that we need to get our heads out of our butts and do something. Give us time. I would love to take this job... but one, or even thousands, noticing a problem isn't enough. We need millions to stand up and do something

War, Warming Trends, Tree Cutting, Pollution in rivers has been happening since the dawn of time.

Look at history, there you will find your answer.

Peope used to pee and crap in rivers before indoor plumbing, in some parts of the world, this is still true. That's pollution.

People have been cutting down trees for fires, homes, etc...for hundreds of years.

Wars have been going on since the first written history.

There are, and I'm not completely discounting Global Warming, warming trends every few thousand years, this is nothing new....

My point is, stop worrying just do your best to be a good citizen and know that not everything is a result of what WE do.

Do you mean will society survive or do you mean the earth itself?

In regard to society, empires rise and fall through out the ages. Before the modern age there was war every few years. I'm pretty sure mankind can survive war. If anything, the earth will BENEFIT from war. After all, the world IS over populated.

As for the earth itself; if humans continue polluting and human population growth continues to grow exponentially, the earth WILL eventually die. We are already running low on many of our non-renewable resources. If humans continue to waste resources and pollute the earth, there is NO doubt that the environment will perish. Earth has already reached it's carrying capacity. If there is no new technology to help stabilize it, the human population will experience die back within a few centuries if not earlier.

I don't think it will last much longer. First of all, this planet has become dependent on fossil fuel. That is probably the worst thing we could have done. There is a limited supply of fossil fuel on Earth and once it runs out, we are going to be in some serious trouble. Many intelligence officials know this too, the only problem is that there are many powerful people who are very rich that survive off of this buisness. Our planet becoming self sufficient without fossil fuel would destroy these people. Therefore, any kind of technology that is developed to eliminate the need for fossil fuel will never make it to the public. These people would rather watch us head down the path of planecide instead of loose their power.

Another factor that makes me believe our time is running short is the weaponization of our solar system. Our government has already spotted life forms performing interstellar traveling through our solar system. That scared us and made us come up with a bill to put weapons out in space to shoot down these life forms. We automatically presume they are a threat. In my head, if you have a being capable of traveling in betweeen solar systems, they could destroy our planet in a second without a sweat. So us putting weapons up there is probably not a good idea. Have you ever seen Star Wars? It would be the same exact scenario. Earth would surely loose though and our planet would be destroyed along with all of its inhabitants.

So whether we destroy Earth ourselves, or we piss off aliens with much more power than us by putting weapons in space, we are not going to last.

Of course Mother Earth will survive anything we dish out, given that she's done it since mankind walked atop her outer crust so to speak, and be advised that she's warmed up from time to time, approximately every 1500 yrs, and more so in the past than currently, and let us not overlook the fact that toxic chemicals, industrialized fossil fuels, and various other such harmful agents were no where to be found 1500 yrs ago, so just what caused Mother Earth to heat up? Hmm, oh I know, common sense dictates that our Sun is behind the warming, so to speak, thus until our Sun ceases to emit extra massive solar flairs toward our dear Mother Earth, she's just going to have to sweat a little:)

The earth will survive she always has but the real question is will humans survive it and guess what we will survive because this earth has not seen a species the likes of us humans we change earth to accommodate us not the other way around and no matter what some humans will always survive and rebuild our resilient and most importantly intelligent race.

Even after natural disasters wipe out the human race...the Earth will re-build. I was just learning yesterday about ocean colonies so deep we can hardly even image....yet there are huge populations of shrimp that live off of giant smoke stacks. One tiny imbalance and the whole system is dead....but over time it regrows. I think the Earth will do the same, it will just take much, much longer to do so.

the world will HAVE to end one day but don't worry, it won't happen in our lifetime. i think that by the time global warming can turn into a serious emergency problem it'll be be resolved because the technology and knowledge of the world will advance. but if global warming doesn't finish us off, the explosion of the sun will but that won't happen until billions of years pass.

I additionally contemplate this... The Earth will in all risk stay to tell the story long after the human race is extinct. it is not Earth that we would desire to continuously be so worried approximately, that's us. We proceed to wreck the Earth in certainly one of those way that finally life, people, animals etc will not have the skill to maintain. worldwide Warming or no worldwide Warming we would desire to be doing ourselves in. each and all of the hatred and conflict, babies and families ravenous, human beings committing mindless acts of violence... we are on the incorrect course, and till extra human beings open their eyes we are able to proceed in this course till we're not from now on...
