What is the cheapest gift-moneywise-you have EVER given anybody?Maybe you were short on cash at the time and would have liked to have given something more expensive,or maybe you just thought the person didn`t deserve anything better?Never mind the ones where you gave your best friend the talcum powder auntie myrtle gave you for christmas - i`m asking about gifts you actually went out and bought yourself to give to a certain person. Did it make you cringe with embarrassment when the person opened it-or did you think " there you go that`s all you`re worth ?" Did you get it thrown back in your face -literally - or did the person thank you nicely and then tell everyone how tight you are behind your back? Or was the person genuinely - to your surprise - very pleased with it and rushed out to buy YOU something nice ? I`m talking price tags here - low ones - let`s see how low we can go ....

$2 - and 10 hours of work!

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

now i am answering this on behalf of my mom, (she has no idea i am answering this on her behalf...but hey i am 37 so figure i dont need her permission... she would laugh anyway) right she has this friend and they have been friends for about a zillion years and every xmas/birthday she buys my mom the most riddiculous and cheap present ever, now we dont give to recieve and i know its the thought that counts and all that malarky! but she buys things like bath salts in a pack of three (you know the kind of goft we gave to our moms when we used to get 50p pocket money for mothers day of extremely tight a** dad) this xmas she bought her a three piece hankie set........... my mom always says that the thought counts but does she really know her at all.........???????? wheras my mom used to buy expensive gifts, she now stoops to the same level! i am not concerned with prices but to put thought in is the most important thing, the worst thing was she always looks happy as she opens it but forgot her birthday one year and actually went into her "naff " gift drawer and wrapped up a present her friend had given her before to give her to make it look like she had not forgotten, her friend said....."what am i supposed to do with that, its not very personal" my mom never had the heart to tell her where it had come from, they are still best buddies, she still buys naff presents .........but they get passed on to me now,, which i pass on to friends if they annoy me throuhgout the year...........

I gave Marigold seeds last year. Seeds that were harvested from a Marigold plant that was given to me the year before...So, basically the cost to me was not much, it was even a rainy summer when I grew the plant I harvested from, so not even much of a water bill... However, everyone loved them, well I have not heard otherwise. Pretty cheap!
