It could be, although Xanax is used to stop these conditions, your blood chemistry might be that it exasperbates the already existing condition. Doctors are so easily getting people on these types of drugs. If you need something, ask your doctor for alternatives to Xanax, like wellbutrin or prozac. I am sure if you tell your doctor that you are experiencing horrible side effects, he can recommend something else that will help you. If you don't like your doctor or he is unresponsive, find another doctor. I would also see about getting a Psychiatrist who can help figure out why you are having these problems in the first place. Good luck.

As others have mentioned, Xanax isn't an anti-depressant. It is "is used to regard anxiousness and panic issues. It belongs to a category of medicines referred to as benzodiazepines which act at the mind and nerves (significant frightened procedure) to provide a soothing end result. It works via editing the consequences of a specified ordinary chemical within the frame (GABA)." Depression isn't indexed as a ordinary part end result for Xanax, nonetheless due to the fact that it has a tendency to be a "downer" it can be triggering despair with you. You would possibly want an anti-depressant additionally to the Xanax or appear into different medicines so as to no longer purpose the despair. However if you're being handled for despair with Xanax, it's not the supposed use for this remedy. I enormously advise that if you're experiencing despair from it that you just touch the health practitioner that prescribed it to you. Good success to you and please name your health practitioner. It could be very main that you just obtain the first-class remedy to regard your ailment. Many instances medicines have to be modified, in many instances a few instances to discover the correct one. the xanax isn't causing your symptoms, but it isn't helping them. This is not uncommon, people often develop tolerance to medication for anxiety and panic because they do not learn the skills necessary for helping themselves expecting the medication to do it all for them. xanax is only an aid to controlling panic and anxiety, it is not a cure for it. If you don't want to have to take every increasing doses of it for the same effect, and a doctor will cut you off if he thinks that is what is happening, then you need to see a cognitive behavioral therapist and learn the skills needed to help yourself control your symptoms.
