My problem is that i have itunes on my computer, and most of my songs are kept on my external hard drive. Some how the letter of that drive has changed. I think it was because of a virtual drive that I installed. I uninstalled the virtual drive and the letter of the external hard drive stayed the same. Therefore itunes cannot find the songs because all the links are wrong. I have a 80 gig ipod and do not want to reinstall everything if i dont have to. Im sure there is a way but i cant seem to figure it out.

You can get tha drive letter back through the virtual drives settings. Just leave the first few drive letters available for external and flash drives and your proplem is solved.

Go to control panel, select administrative tools, then double click computer management icon and under the storage section select disk management then right click on the disk you want to change the letter assignment on and one of the option on the menu is "change drive letter and paths". Just change it to something you want. Take care doing this on a C: drive as the programs are all stored on that drive and it can muck things up - as you have already experienced with your music. Well, you didn't indicate what operating system you were using, so I'm going with XP. Go to:
START | SETTINGS CONTROL PANEL | ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS | COMPUTER MANAGEMENT | STORAGE | DISK MANAGEMENT
Click on the drive name it is at present. Now, right-click on the highlighted drive and select "Change drive letter or Path." Now pick one.

on the left side menu click on Disk Management
look for the drive you like to change the letter
right click> change Drive Letter And Paths
