A hypothetical planet has a radius 1.9 times that of Earth, but has the same mass. What is the acceleration due to gravity near its surface?

Answer in m/s^2 (downward).

g = MG/r^2

g = MG/r^2

g = 5.9 x 10^24 * 6.672 x 10^-11 / (6.38 x 10^6 * 1.9)^2

g = 2.71 m/sec^2

Look a the eq for g. It has r² in the denominator. Therefore the answer has to be g/1.9²
