I'm wokring on my Post Bac application and I'm at my essay part. One of the essays asks me to
"Discuss your expectations of the program and what you will contribute to it. Explain any weakness in your academic record and what areas you would like assistance in improving. Discuss why you are interested in working in underserved communities"
I expect to further my knowledge in the sciences so I'm better prepared for medical school. What do they mean "contribute" to it? I'm interested in working in underserved communities because I believe everyone deserves a chance at a good medical care and I'm real into charity.
Are these reasons good enough?
HELP!!!!

You are entering the graduate school community. As such you are not really considered a kid going to college - you are considered an advanced student, someone who has gained experience and insight that you can share with others, including your fellow students and professors. Maybe you can stimulate discussions through your experience, or lead projects or even seminars.

Do not think of grad school as only "I want to go there because I want to learn from the best" - think also "I want to go there because I can contribute with the best". You will be expected to help your fellow grad students through the learning processes as much as you take from them, including your professors. If you can't do that, if you have nothing to contribute to the community, you shouldn't be part of the community and you shouldn't be at the better grad schools.

That's what they're looking for.

It sounds to me like they want to know how you will help their program. You are there to learn from them, but they want to know what they will learn from you. Maybe you can say that you hope to contribute your thoughts about, and dedication to, helping others. If you are proficient in research, then state something along those lines. Those are just a few examples of what I would say.
