The thing about Buffalo and NJ, they both have huge flaws that will make them beatable in the playoffs
Buffalo gives up too many goals (poroud D and an average goalie). Plus, they are too injury prone to be considered a team that is built for the playoffs.
New Jersey can not score goals. At all. They get all of their scoring from more than just Elias, Gomez and Gionta now, but they are still #27 in the league in scoring, and dead last in the East. Brodeur is Brodeur, but it's taken his best season ever to keep the Devils at the top. If he comes back to earth only a little bit, the Devils are in trouble. They can't afford to have very good goaltending, they need legendary goaltending. Too much pressure even for Brodeur.
Everyone else in the East is good enough to beat these teams, but not great. The East is the biggest crapshoot ever. But I think the East finals will be Buffalo and Ottawa. I think Ottawa might be ready to get over the hump and get to the finals. They have better goaltending because Emery has improved, they have goalscorers, and they are well balanced.
But nothing would surprise me. Just a few weeks ago I had Buffalo winning the Cup. I think the Rangers would be tough too. Who really knows at this point?
In the West, I'll just say the Ducks and ask you to take my word for it. I'm tired of typing.
Senators over the Ducks. In six.

Two teams are good enough out East: New Jersey and Buffalo, with Pittsburgh being a bit of a dark horse there. In the West, anyone from 1 to 8 could represent the Conference out there. I would say, Buffalo vs. San Jose, with the Sharks winning in 6 games. Buffalo will win the East because they have the most balanced lineup in the Conference, with all of their lines being capable of putting the puck in the net, their entire defense being able to hold teams at bay, and their goaltender, Ryan Miller, being able to stop anything that comes at him. San Jose will win the West because they have the best goaltending tandem in the league with Nabokov and Toskala, with Joe Thornton leading an offense that also has Bill Guerin, Jonathan Cheechoo, Patrick Marleau (who plays extremely well in the playoffs), Steve Bernier, Milan Michalek and Ryane Clowe to name a few, and some good young defensemen like Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Matt Carle leading the backend. San Jose will win the series because of how strong they are both at home and on the road, winning all of their home games and at least one game on the road in this series. Go Sharks Go!

Buffalo Sabres vs. San Jose Sharks in 6
Sabres over Devils in 7 in Eastern Conference
Sharks over Ducks in 6 in Western Conference
Both teams have the speed and depth to wear teams down.

Buffalo or New Jersey in the East
San Jose or Anaheim in the West
I'll go with Buffalo vs. San Jose with Sharks winning in 7 by virtue of their strong road performance.

Sabers are to beat up to make it, along with the
Predators, but really this year is the most wide open I have seen in years, anyone has a chance to win it, that's just my best choice.
