What do they like? What do they dislike?

If you want to go home-cooking, try fried chicken.

If you want to go healthy, grill salmon and shrimp.

If you want to go ethnic, try Italian or Greek (both are easy to do).

I'm a guy and I cook a lot.
Go to www.bettycrocker.com
They have a TON of recipes on there of GOOD food.
Plus when you find a recipe you like, you can print out a shopping list that has exactly what ingredients you need to get at the store and how much of them too.
Try the Lasagna Roll-Ups.
They're delicious and go nicely with a salad and bread.
You can't go wrong with italian.

Good Luck.

I bet I know something they've never had and will knock their socks off and yours.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Take enough thawed chicken and cut up about 2 potatoes for each of you into quarters and make a wedge not so thick. Put in a bowl with about a cup of olive oil, and a cup of lemon juice (fresh lemons squeezed is best) and cavenders greek seasoning. Mix it all up and add slices of butter on top of it. Lay it out in a flat pan where not much is overlapping, you might want to use two. Bake until potatoes start to brown. DO NOT TURN ANYTING. In about 45 minutes to one hour when they brown and the oil is sizzling take a baster or spoon and spoon the juice over the whole dish, BUT DON'T MIX UP OR TURN. Then put on broil for about 5 minutes until the top of the potatoes brown some more, but don't burn too bad, either way, they will still be delicious. Greek Chicken and Potatoes. Enjoy! Jennifer

This makes a great appetizer... Fried Won Tons

1 package of wonton wrappers
1 Can of Shrimp
1 Can of Crab
1 package of sofened cream cheese
Garlic salt
1/2 Cup of Parmesen Cheese

Mix all the ingredients above, salt to taste (makes a great cracker spread too!) place small amount of mix into wonton wrapper... use just a dab of water on the inside edges of wrapper, fold in half to make a triangle and press edges together... fry in hot oil until they are golden brown. VERY GOOD... have made several times with great comments.

When you do choose a recipes, please make it a couple of times before they come over. You don't want the pressure of meeting them for the first time AND serving a new dish.

Best of luck to you and relax, they're gonna love your cooking!

first of all - ask them if they have any food restrictions/preferences... there would be nothing worse than slaving over a gorgeous roast when they just gave up meat for lent (or something)... I know a million great recipies, but it is better to look for yourself.. go to www.foodtv.com. Amazing website... search for recipies by chef.. my favorite for entertaining is barefoot contessa (ina garten).... if you are cooking dinner, pasta is the easiest and most widely enjoyed meal. if there are no seafood allergies, try a linguini with shrimp.. super easy and good (ina garten has a great one on that website).

well depending on the situation, if you can't cook KFC get chidken mashed potatoes and so on, or you could try to get chicken breasts and put them in a muffin pan yes i know this sounds wierd but it is so good. neway spice it the way you like it. Or you could put stuffing in withit or bacon and cheese or watevr you like w/chicken. and throw it in the ove 'till it cooked. though it is easy you might want to try it a few days in advance to make sure you know haw to. and you like it.....

good luck
