I often hear gays and lesbians condenming christians for disagreeing with their lifestyle. Fair enough. I also hear gays and lesbians preach tolerance for the muslim countries we are at war with (i.e. Rosie O'donnel). Yet in those countries that you preach tolerance for, they condenm gays and lesbians and cut their heads off. Where's the outrage over that? You are lucky to be living in the USA, right?

Your right, gays do have alot of compassion and are great people to talk to. Some of them have helped me out a great deal, but I still have a problem with the real enemy who would chop my gay freinds head off!!

That's because gays tend to have more compassion, even on those who hate us, unlike christians that condemn and hate everyone that doesn't agree with them.

I think that a lot of the time members of the GLBT community are condemning not so much Christians, or Christianity, but the people who go around saying homosexuals will die and rot in hell, or are freaks of nature, or sinners or this or that. I myself have the utmost respect for people who practice religion, but actually live what they preach. I'm not a big fan of the religious people who pick and chose what you should or should not be condemned for. For example, they have no problem judging others, which is one of the more obviously talked about no nos in the bible. The bible was written by man, not God. I live my life in a way that I can be proud of. I don't hurt others, I'm honest, loyal, trustworthy. I think these are the things that God will care about, not the sex of the person I fall in love with. I think there should be more tolerance in general in the U.S. Truthfully though, a lot of the outrage towards Christians and Christianity is due to the incredible hypocrisy shown by many members of the religious community. Rosie is not the voice of the homosexual population. We all have opinions and beliefs that differ from each other. Just because we have our orientation in common doesn't mean everything else is the same as well.

Just because Rosie says something she is not automatically speaking for all gays and lesbians. I believe in tolerance and acceptance of all peoples and all religions, even where I may not personally agree with it. Not because I am gay but because I would like to think that I am civilised person.

To simply state that gays and lesbians do not show outrage over what happens to our brothers and sisters facing torture and death because of their sexuality is completely wrong. Here in Europe we condemn and we protest against abuse - however the mass media do not cover it. Just because you don't see it on Fox News does not mean it does not happen. Whether it is at Pride marches or at protests at embassies we show our solidarity with those facing oppression.

Please get the facts before making wide ranging accusations
about something you know little about.

One other point - Yahoo and the internet are international, there is more to the world than the USA.

i dont condem any religion, or race, or sexuality, I CONDEMN HATE AND IGNORANCE. just because some people are ignorant and hateful and use their religion has an excuse, that doesnt make the religion bad, it makes the person pathetic for taking their hate and placing it on somthing sacred. From what I have seen, pretty much all religions preach love, peace, and acceptance, and condemn hatred/wrath/ignorance, therefore it's not the religion that's the problem, its the people twisting it into an excuse that i have a problem with.
and lucky to be living in the USA? seriously. ha, im about ready to hope the border to Canada, this country is startn to piss me off.

You're right
There should be no double standard.
I don't believe Rosie and people like her are trying to condone all parts of Islam, only that they perhaps didn't deserve for the bush administration to come bomb the crap out of innocent people for oil interests. Add to that that American Muslims can't get away with beheading homosexuals here in the USA - though their Islamic governments in the middle east would.

context, most gays just want to love the one they r with, what u think or christians think or tree bark thinks is totally unimportant my last boyfriend was better than your last girlfriend in bed, whys that you say well because guys know what guys like. but in the end you still can utter your opinion because bush hasn't yet abolished the bill of rights. just so you know canada has more LGBT's, and were do swingers fit in. hmmmmm

I don't 'condemn' christians, I dislike all forms of organized religion. I respect everyone's right to believe in whatever they choose to believe in-but that respect stops the minute they attack me for my beliefs.
I don't understand how someone can preach hate in the name of God, and justify it by saying "I am trying to save you". It boggles the mind, but imo I feel that one of us is right and one of us is wrong. Only time and death can answer either of us.

I am quite lucky to be living where I am. I would not preach tolerance for any kind of violence. Unless someone hits me first.
