Just bought a house with a dirt driveway. Can't afford to pave it, but would like to know what options and materials could be used to make it better. Believe crushed rock is one option.

Crushed rock or gravel are your best bets. Depends on how big the rock is. Just need to be rolled good to compact them. Another good surface is decomposed Granite. You can buy it by the yard, spread and level it yourself and rent a plate compactor (gas powered vibrating compactor) at any rental store to compact it with. It's very durable and looks good.
