Yes, but I prefer only the higher quality strains. Avoid the schwag. I don't drink Bud Light and I don't smoke commercial brick-weed.
I believe the repeal of prohibition is LONG overdue. Mainstream America has accepted its recreational use and the laws need to be changed to reflect that but government has gotten too big and people have no control over it anymore.
The government says its "bad medicine" because of other chemicals in the smoke. It says it's more "dangerous" because it's stronger now than it was in the `60s and `70s but reality tells me that it's actually SAFER because one smokes LESS to achieve the desired effect. And, of course, they leave out the fact that it's even safer when eaten or inhaled through a vaporizer rather than smoked.
The government has been LYING about this plant for 70 years now. Below is a link to an EXCELLENT 3-part documentary by Penn & Teller on the subject:

Yes.
Repeal Prohibition.
The costly media campaigns aimed at young people have been proven to be ineffective many times over. Drugs are prevalent everywhere ... especially in the schools but in a controlled, regulated market similar to alcohol and tobacco, that would no longer be the case.
The government is aware that the tide of public opinion is slowly, but surely, turning against the status quo and those whose careers are vested in the drug war are fighting tooth-and-nail against any and everything that would cause budget reductions and downsizing of their departments and bureaucracies. They are not above violating the laws which prohibit the use of public funds from being spent to influence elections when such measures are on the ballot.
Marijuana: it’s not just the drug-of-choice of Negroes, Mexicans, and hippies anymore—the intended targets of persecution when the laws were originally enacted and escalated

I first tried marijuana when I was about 14. Since then I smoked it occasionally at parties and stuff until I was about 25. It makes me absolutely mental when I am on it and then I just fall asleep. A lot of my friends and boyfriends have been heavy pot smokers, smoking it every single day. I have watched them go from fun-loving out-going people to fat, boring, lazy stoners with no ambition and no zest for life. I would go in the kitchen at my house and my sister's boyfriend would be taking hits from his bong and the whole room used to smell of burning flesh. He used to burn his mouth and throat but he was so ****ed he didn't care. His lungs will be a mess. The damage pot smoking does to someone's personality and mental state is very gradual and so not necessarily obvious to the pot smoker. Also they like the feeling of being stoned and numb any worries of ****ing up their life with another joint. The stuff is so damaging and so insipid. I used to take a lot of cocaine. I have been through rehab and have not touched any drug for over 2 years. However, I would rather snort a big pile of coke than smoke a joint, I think pot is that damaging.

YES Should be legal!Alcohol kills more people directly(poisoning)and indirectly(drunk drivers)than pot! You've never heard of someone od'ing on pot(correct me if i'm wrong)or getting so high they run over 12 people waiting on a bus.(NOTE:the stoner on the 'simpsons' Otto is the school bus driver)That might be cause they are only going 30 on the highway, not to mention they're paranoid as h**l.
Notice the public service announcement on tv where the car load of stoners at the drive thru are about to run over a girl on her bike?where are this girls parents?shes on a bike in front of a burger joint?
Maybe when the next generation gets elected we can turn things around.

I know this drug very well, I've used it before, I've been clean for 3 years. With this it's hard to tell you. I know some people very successful people that use it in moderation. I also know some people that lost their motivation to do anything because of it. I do believe it depends on what type of person you are and how much control over yourself you have. If it is legalized i wouldn't want just any some Joe smoking it. I think it should be regulated, only responsible people should smoke in moderation.

no and never will.
By the end of the decade one in four new cases of schizophrenia could be triggered by smoking cannabis, scientists say.
Research has suggested that regular users of the drug are up to six times more likely to develop schizophrenia, although whether the drug is the direct cause remains disputed.
The Department of Health says it is now generally agreed among doctors that cannabis is an “important causal factor” in mental illness.
A study published in the journal Addiction predicts that, if the causal link between cannabis use and schizophrenia is accepted, rates of the illness will increase substantially by 2010, especially among young men.
The use of cannabis grew fourfold over the 30 years to 2002, and eighteenfold among under18s, the researchers say.
Such a boom in cannabis use could lead to increases in the number of new cases of schizophrenia of 29 per cent between 1990 and 2010.
Cannabis was downgraded from a class B drug to class C in 2004. The new study comes after a new classification system for drugs proposed by scientists this week placed tobacco and alcohol well ahead of cannabis in substances thought to do most harm.
The researchers examined the historic rise in cannabis use alongside new occurrences of schizophrenia in Nottingham, Bristol and the London Borough of Southwark. Predictions based on the data suggest that if the association is confined to heavy cannabis users then approximately 10 per cent of schizophrenia cases may be due to cannabis by 2010.
However, assuming an association between onset of the disease and both light and heavy users, then as many as one quarter of new cases could be due to cannabis.
So far, about 8 per cent of schizophrenia cases have been attributed to the use of cannabis.
John Macleod, a co-author of the study and an academic GP, said: “Our study does not address the question whether cannabis directly causes schizophrenia — this remains unclear — but what is clear is that if you assume such a link then the number of cases of schizophrenia will increase significantly in line with increased use of the drug.”
Matthew Hickman, the lead author of the study, added: “The challenge now is to improve our data on schizophrenia occurrence to see whether the projected increase occurs — which will tell us more about how important cannabis is as a cause of schizophrenia.”
According to the mental health charity Rethink, at least five international studies have found that cannabis doubles the risk of mental illness, including schizophrenia.
A spokesman for the charity said: “We now know that cannabis can be a trigger for mental health problems and smoking it under the age of 18 can double people’s chances of developing psychosis.”

In fact, I prefer it to alcohol. I've been smoking it for over twenty years now...as a recreational habit. In that time, I have been a very successful business owner, and a responsible member of the community.
There are a great many medicinal uses for marijuana...but like everything else...if it is abused, it can be dangerous. I think that it should be decriminalized, to free up the court and prison systems. And as far as legalizing...well, its the same as alcohol and cigarettes. If a consulting adult wants to indulge, who is the government to say no? There needs to be a way of imposing a breathalizer, as they do with alcohol, and the same penalties should apply to those that smoke and drive.

If you read the Bible it tells you that God put all plants on this Earth to be used as food or medicine, and he put man in charge of finding out which ones are good for what purpose.
Marijuana works wonders for those who suffer from depression, and it relieves the nausea that Chemo Therapy causes, not to mention that some say it is really good for glaucoma.

Yeah, I've tried t and it's great. It should definitely be legalized. At least 90% of people who don't this it should be legalized have never tried it, or if they did they didn't keep an open mind. If it doesn't cause them any harm I don't know why they need to ruin it for the rest of us.
