Magnet schools have kids that want to learn. At a public school any thug that lives across the street can go. I went to a magnet school and the halls were quiet and people were eager to learn. We did not act up because we did not want to lose our privilige of going there. Kids do whatever they want in public school.

Are you talking about Junior High Schools?

Well, I attended a magnet JHS and to be honest it wasn't too spectacular. I don't believe I learned anymore than my friends who attended "regular" public schools. In my opinion magnet schools and public schools are pretty similar, except magnet schools are usually specialized on a certain area. The problem is, not all schools have enough space for all the students. As a result, only a handful of students are allowed to take the "special" classes, while the others are not. The selection process isn't based upon merit, it is purely random.

Here's my tip; pick the school that's most convenient for you.

Magnet schools are no better than public; really it depends on the student. In public middle schools & high schools they have excellerated programs so if your child has promise, they will be in those classes. I strongly believe in public because of the social surroundings, kids have to mingle with all walks of life. The ones who want to learn -learn, and the ones who don't-do not.

I dont mean to be racist but at most private schools there are mostly all white. At my school i see asian, black, white, hispanic, and many other types of people. i know that if i went 2 a private school, i would be tried of seeing people who look the same

it rather is too extensive a question. each and each college desires to be evaluated for those factors on its very own. those are subject concerns that is desperate at any college, it rather is not considerable wherein it rather is located, inspite of the undeniable fact that's set by way of concerns comparable to college & workers philosophy and involvement, parental & student responsibilities, dedication, etc.
