Some people base their own worthiness on the judgement of others. If others think they are worthy of attention and affection, they think higher of themselves...almost like they have to prove their worth to others because they can't see it in themselves.
I think it's a self-esteem issue. I mean, if you thought highly of yourself, you wouldn't care what other people thought of you.

I heard this quote on a movie this weekend.
If we live our lives based on the thoughts of others, whats the point of having any thoughts of our own
I loved it. Who cares what people think.
