Satyr. In Greco-Roman myth they were wild companions of Pan and Dionysus. They were associated with male sexuality and possessed of tremendous appetites in that area. Nymphomaniac is derived from Nymph. Nymphs were female spirits either bound to a particular location such as a river, mountain, or grove or attached to a retinue of one of the gods such as Dionysus, Pan, Artemis, Hermes, or Appollo. Nymphs were often the target of lusty Satyrs.
