I'm not asking how many diamond CARDS there are but how many diamond SHAPES??????

2 each corner=26
2 each picture inset=6 - Picture cards have 2 diamonds in the corners and 2 diamonds further in with the picture.

Theres 13 Diamonds, 13 Spades, 13 Clubs and 13 Hearts. Each suit has an Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, and King.

ok. there's 2 in each corner of a diamond card. so 2x13=26 because 13 cards in a standard deck are diamonds.

Then you count the number cards.
10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2, 1 or ace. add them up. 10+9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1=55

add that to the 26 in each corner of the diamond card, so,

55+26=81
there are 81 diamond shapes in a whole standard deck.
