sweetheart - try raising 4 kids single handed; having to do 2 partiem jobs to keep money coming in and studying for your degree at the same time. i did so i suggest you give yourself a good shake because i cannot imagine why you cannot succeed if i could with having to cope with all that (Oh and a marriage breakdown at the end of my first year - hence the raising 4 kids etc etc.)

1) The advice about talking to someone at the school is a great one; do that 1st. If you don't get it sit down and work on your exams come hail or high water. If you DO get it:

2) Sit down, concentrate, and WRITE ALL YOUR PROBLEMS DOWN.

-Take a breather, then review and sort:

1) which problems can you do something about?

2) which ones can you do nothing about? (They are beyond your control, or there is nothing you can think of to resolve them now.)
File this group for the school break time and revisit them then.
When you do, you can decide if they are worth worrying about, or if you should just let them work out any way they do. If you believe in God, ask him for help, and take your hands off these ones.

3) From group 1) :
A) review the problems for gravity (how bad are the consequences), and deadlines.
B) Decide if there are any problems that you must deal with IMMEDIATELY.
If any are pressing, see if you can get an extension on them, and proceed accordingly: resolve them, or file them for 1st priority after the exams.

Prioritize and schedule others and well.

4) See if you can get help (family, friends, school counseling... priest, etc...) in resolving the urgent ones (if there are any) .

5) Then turn to your work knowing that you WILL sort it all out.

Do not relax after getting extensions. Remind yourself daily that you are working now under a crowded schedule. Anything you do today will be one less thing piled on top of all the other tasks that will come your way tomorrow. Anything you leave for tomorrow, will make your tomorrow more stressful.

Good luck.

Calm down, get the advise you need from Y!Answers and then move on with the things you need to do and don't get back on Y!Answers. I'm having the same problem as you, but I'm waiting to not feel all emotional with my problems first.

Take one thing at a time when working on your school work, so that you don't become overwhelmed.

Most of all focus and no more procrastinating, if need be take some time to meditate and let go of everything so that you can temporarily be in denial and not have the problems there in you mind, that way you can get your work done.

That's what I've been doing when coupping with it isn't enough.

firstly go and see your personal tutor, or someone in the department you trust and talk your problems through with them. dont spend another minute sitting alone and worrying about it - you HAVE to tell your tutor or head of department - if you dont tell them they cant help you and probably wont be sympathetic when you hand the work in late if they knew nothing about your problems

You may be able to get an extension on your deadlines or some advice on how to catch up, or your problems may be taken into consideration when your work is marked. It would be better to talk to someone now than end up dropping out and having to repeat the year. You've got enough time to revise for your exam, and as for the work for tomorrow, you will have to find out their policy on giving extensions.

I gave up on my first degree for the same reason and I really regret not speaking to someone earlier and getting help.

I am having the exact same problem! What exams are you doin? You need to organise your time. Sort out ur folders or books or whatever you use and make little revision notes or cards or something so you can revise easier. Maybe ask those ppl who have done the work to scan their notes or something!?

You need to stop stressing to much. The more you stress the less hard you will be working. Make a plan of what you need to do and stick to it! Don't expect miracles, make the plan manageable so you can stick to it and not stress even more.

Good luck!
