You might wanna try Falling Up, Skillet, The Juliana Theory and Red
Falling Up is a softer alternative group
Skillet is sort of like Linkin Park but with a different sound
The Juliana Theory is unique like Evanescence
Red is similar to Linkin Park but they're a little more alternative

Why don't you give Southern Rock a try. Couldn't hurt anything. The music is so diverse in so many ways that its bad that it even has to be labeled. Start out with The Marshall Tucker Band and then check out some of the older original Lynyrd Skynyrd songs.
