You cannot stop nature. Keep a sanitary pad on you at all times. I was on a bike ride with my dad when I started mine. Miles from home and a bathroom. My little sister is 11 and started on vacation away from our mom. It is an emotional experience. I am glad you are aware of what your body is going to go through.

Something similar happenned to me when I started. Don't worry it happens to every girl at some point.
Best thing to do is wear a panty liner or a small pad just in case. Make sure you've got a couple of pads in your locker as well.
Don't worry it's usually really light to start off with and even if you're not wearing any protection it's not usually heavy enough to leak through your clothes.
Good luck, Donna

Talk to your mom, tell her you think you are about to start your period for the first time. Have her get you some pads to carry in you purse, that way you will be ready if it happens at school. It may not be a bad idea to carry an extra pair of panties too. you can take tylenol or midol for the cramps.

If you're worried tell your mom. If you do get in school be prepared. Ask your mom to buy you pads. When it first comes it could be be a small dot or it could bleed through your pants, a lot of times it's light but it's different for everyone. If it happens in school and you need help go to the nurse, she'll help you and she can let you call your mom.

you can never physically stop your period from coming. since it's your first time, i would reccomend pads, not tampons. As for the cramps, take 2 pills of tyenol, or advil. a medicine especially made for periods is midol. if none of those work, try ibuprophene. if it continues to hurt, get heating pads. in school, just go to your nurse, and when you say "cramps" she will understand. when you get older you might take birth pills, but at your age that's out of question. I know it sucks, but it will get better.

You should talk to your doctor about it cause it probably is not your period.Carry something in your purse at all time, that's what I use to do until I got mine.I got it at school also.I had bad cramps like your having but for that period of time I didn't wear light pants like white etc and I carried my purse everywhere with me.
