I have just downloaded zone alarm firewall?
and it has warned me twice already that a 168.554.888 is trying to gain access to your computer..they are not the real numbers up there..i cant remember what they were but you get the idea..so is it someone trying to hack into my computer or not.

It depends. It might a program that needs to communicate with the Internet and the firewall is blocking it, you may be downloading something and your firewall is blocking the port, or it is entirely possible that someone may be trying to hack you. The general rule is if you don't know the address or don't recognize it, don't allow it. If you block an IP you don't know or a port and a program malfunctions, then you know that port is used by that program and you can unblock it.
