you do know that chick is going to grow up to be a Chicken most likely a rooster 80% of hatchery chicks sent out are roosters..
and chickens arnt allowed in most city areas.

oky heres what you need....
were you are buying the chick as for a round rubber horse feeder tube *there black* for the chicks *house* that should do fine for one chick get a heat lamp.. and a heat bulb.. also a chick feeder and water *YES! they need a special waterer it keeps the little guys from drowning them selfs..
then you will need shavings for the bedding and a bag of Chick starter *YES they need special food...
this one little chick is going to cost you about 75.00 so i would suggest if you live in the country buy more then one chick... or just dont buy any at all....

A baby chick needs to be kept very warm. So, you need a heat lamp with a big red bulb, a draft-free area, and a thermometer to house it. Keep the chick at about 90 degrees for the first few weeks. After that reduce the heat by 5 degrees each week until it is no longer needed. Every feed store or farm store will carry some type of chick-starter. You will feed that for the recommended period for your breed and then slowly switch it over to laying mash and cracked corn if it is a pullet or just cracked corn for a cockerel. Always make sure it has fresh water at all times in a very shallow dish. If the chick is lethargic for the first few days, add a tablespoon of regular sugar to it's water.

i don't know about the others, but my step-dad's friend breeds chickens, and it caused a rat problem until he put it in a stall for a horse. so i suggest not to leave it in your house.
you should google it...
