fun memories. use to go to the creek in my home town and fill the bath tub. My mom would tell my dad that she was worried about me becoming a lady because i was such a tomboy...still am!
Then i would want to keep them all for pets and cry when dad took them to go fishing!!!

Probably not the same as you, because the nearby stream is just a clarifying stream for the little golf course -- totally artificial. But yes, there were crayfish in it. I kept mine in various containers. Most successfully, in a 10 gallon aquarium. I raised a couple of generations -- yes, they do breed in captivity. They make great pets, apart from eating everything else in the aquarium. I switched to plastic plants, and, yes, they did chew some of the leaves off the plastic plants.

Ahhh.. thats cute!! I used to live in Louisiana, and me and my little brother would hunt crawdads all the time! We would catch them, and keep them around, and then my mom would release them in the morning, or later that evening.

Yea i have my dad would take us all to look for crawdads and we would get soo excited but im not sure why now.
