I think that Neo always gives great advice to his Vegas questions......
I went at that time last year and it was still 90 in the day hours though....We went home about the 4th and the temp was supposed to maybe drop to the low 80's. Pack accordingly. We never needed a jacket at night at that time of year either.

It really depends on what you like doing and your age. The strip hotels and casinos are gorgeous (Wynn is amazing, Monte Carlo is nice and cheap) and offer tons of things to do. The pools at hotels may or may not be open in October, it depends on the weather really. The downtown area is nicer for the elderly crowd, but the hotels and casinos are older and their age shows. If money is no object, go to a show! The Vegas shows are all spectacular! As a side note, Vegas is trying to go smoke-free so if food is being served, smoking is not allowed.

All hotels are wheelchair accessable, you can call their 1800 numbers and they can each give you a detail. It is good to have a small plan for the first visit. You can get distracted because there is so very much going on around you all the time you are there.

Its great and most of all HAVE FUN!

The strip is very crowded. Keep that in mind.

The best advice I can give you is to research your trip before you leave and/or book it. You can find the best rates on hotels and shows on the Internet.
Next, dress accordingly. October should be in the 70's.

most everything is wheel chair friendly. keep your doors locked and don't carry a lot of cash with you. avoid the strip after dark on weekends. there's a reason it's called sin city.email me with any particular questions if you want.
