The pill affects women differently. The pill cleared up my acne, for instance. No one can tell you what the best birth control is for you - it is a decision you and your doctor need to make together, with your medical history.

That depends on the need of the woman. Birth control pills come in different hormones and how they can mimic your menstrual cycle. There are monophasic, biphasic, and triphasic pills, pills you can take 1 every few months, etc.
Best advice, go to your doctor and see what your needs are and maybe they can find one that best suits you. Hey, maybe the pill is not for you, maybe an IUD, Depo-provera shot, etc.
Good Luck!

The pill does not cause acne-in fact I am ON it for acne, my skin is perfectly cleared up now because it regulates hormones. Picking up weight is seriously not an issue, just watch what you eat. Use the pill AND a condom because neither is 100% effective.

Any birth control effects your hormones. You really do not know what is going to happen to you. I was on Depo Provera for over 5 years. It was a great birth control. I got real heavy and terrible acne and developed a condition called hirotism. Not to mencion the 5years + I have had to cope with depression.

Make sure you have a great doctor who cares for you and not your check book or insurance.

I was stupid and listened to my doctor cause they all push the pill on you. Now I can't have children. It's your life. If feeling like crap all the time is what you want....pop the pill!! Messing with your hormones might not seem like a big deal at your age...but it WILL catch up with you.

Or be safe and chart cycles..there are websites all over the internet and you can tell EXACTLY when your fertile days are...if you want to avoid getting pregnant or acheive getting pregnant. It's a small window.

Good luck! :)

Everyone reacts differently. My best friend lost weight on Ortho TriCyclin, while I packed up about 10 pounds and felt sick all the time on it. You won't know how your system will react until you try it yourself.

the best answer would be "abstinence" in general.

But, since I don't practice what I preach, I took tricylcen-lo. I'm prone to acne too, and I didn't suffer at all.
