Did you know that PETA has killed over 85% of the animals they have supposedly "Saved" because it is cheaper than caring for them? Does the ends justify the means?

Strigidae - You can demean the site I linked to but that does not change the facts that PETA has euthenized(sp?) 85% of the animals they supposedly saved and their President was quoted as saying it was a financial decision. That they maintain a contract with a company to cremate those animal remains. Hypocrisy at its best.

Definetely NOT a PETA supporter. Organizations such as this are great at ignoring the fact that humanbeings are not from another planet, and that we are alot more kind to animals than animals are to each other. Many animals would be extinct were it not for people, one example would be horses. Orginizations such as PETA are more about political power than actually helping animals. Great place for the determinedly ignorant to make themselves feel better about themselves.

All organizations have their radicals. PETA's no exception.

They depreciate themselves in their spouting of "Save the Planet", "Save the Animals" and yet release animals from labs and fur farms that are sick or infectious and/or unprepared to take care of themselves in the wild. They're not saving a thing, they only delay the needless suffering and death.

Though I'm not a PETA supporter per se, the site you provided is well known to have its own agenda.
Much of it gleaned from questionable sources.
Much of it Yellow Journalism.
Since the Internet pervades these ideas, it falls to us to know how to discern the truth.

ADDITIONAL:
I do and did not deny PETA euthanizes animals in their "care."
If you read my response, I did imply PETA's hypocrisy without actually using the word. Perhaps, that was my mistake, so here it is, very plainly stated, PETA IS HYPOCRITICAL.

Unlike some, I do not look at the world in simple black and white terms as this site encourages. Thus, I can see at least SOME possible truth to the site -- on the flip side -- I don't believe everything I read without further research. I do criticize it for it's rabidness.

Im not a fan of peta at all, and I love animals. Peta is way too extreme in every way for me. First they act like they'd rather see humans die than animals (like when Steve Irwin died, they were quick to jump infront of the camera and say he had it coming), but then they go and kill animals. They're in it for the money, and nothing else. The only place you'll find peta wanting to "help" animals is when the media coverage is big. They dont use donations to help animals, they use it to help themselves, afford that new car, house, pool, face lift..etc...etc..etc

I am an animal lover - after receiving my bachelor I plan to go to vet school, and i currently work in a vet practice. i also help extensively with animal rescue.

I DON'T support PETA.

If you take a look at their website, and read up on their "success stories", some of the "sufferings" that animals are experiencing are so far fetched it's ridiculous.

PETA is all about the "ethical treatment of animals." We all agree that there is a pet overpopulation due to not neutering or irresponsible breeding. PETA is not doing anything different than Animal Control Agencies or the Humane Society when it comes to controlling the high numbers of strays. Problems caused by overpopulation have forced these agencies to humanely end these animals lives. There are simply not enough homes for every stray and it is better for their lives to end painlessly than to have to languish in a shelter cage, fend for themselves or get hit by a car. While I do not agree with all of PETA's methods (extreme break-ins and such), I believe they do care about animals.

I heard about that Petco bird issue...i worked at Petco in Nanuet,NY...they were telling us that. thats why i bought my bird, PETA threatened to take him and kill him :( he's a yellow nape amazon! but as far as me supporting PETA....uh.......NO! i think it's unfair the way the make us (the public) believe such lies saying they will take of them and find homes for them, and then kill the poor things...
