How can I get rid of garter snake under the patio.?

I guess the question is why would you want to? They are harmless, eat nasty things and usually stay hidden. However, if you feel you must, you need to eliminate its habitat, which is extremely tough under a patio. The best idea is to find someone fearless (that would be me if I was local -- I do this for our neighbors all the time!) to catch it and transport it to a nature site far away where it will be safe. (I usually just bring them to my yard -- they generally stay!).
