Hey I am 33 weeks preg with my first child. My last doc appt he confirmed the baby was head down. She is now dropping, (enough where others notice) how much longer until labor starts? (I know that is a very broad question, I am just excited to have her here)

probably 8 more weeks the baby drops very early the first time and usually after that it doesn't drop at all until you go into labour"dropping" doesn't really have anything to do with the amount of time you will go into labour it just gives you some extra room for that baby to keep in growing i know you are excited but just hope your baby comes on time then you will have a less cranky better off baby the longer they can live off of you the better

My best friend had a Dr's visit at about 30 weeks and heard the same thing you did, she's dropping that baby was turned and in position for 9 weeks. she wnet a few days after her due date. There's no way at this point to tell when you'll go into labor. The Dr will keep tabs on her position, and your cervix. Once you start to dialate is the time to start getting excited, but even that can mean days or weeks left to go. Good luck to you .

you will never know until the baby decides
I am now 36 weeks pregnant, and for over 2 weeks have been dialated to 3, and have been losing my mucous plug for over a month, and the baby has been dropped.
you don't know each and every pregancy is different but if i were you i wouldn't want the baby to come any earlier than 37 weeks, to many problems/chance of problems otherwise.
every pregancy is different especailly if this is your first you drop sooner, with my first I dropped around 34 weeks and delivered at 37 weeks.

I think I remember the dr. said that the baby drops about a month before the actual delivery

My baby was head down and dropping at 28 weeks... now I am 37 weeks, and 1cm dilated and 50% effaced... still no sign of my little boy... but I am hoping it happens soon!!! It's different with every mom and baby though so you could go before 37 weeks or after... who knows... *Patience dust your way!!!*

as early as 37/38 weeks is completely normal.....dropping by itself doesn't mean so much as they can drop quite early.
