Why weren't Irfan Pathan and Sreesanth given a chance to prove themselves?

Why weren't they brought in when Uthappa, Harbajan and Agarkar were struggling?

Pathan and Sreesanth are young and are always energetic on the field. They are legit strike bowlers and when India faltered in the first game against Bangladesh why were Harbajan, Sehwag and Agarkar and a couple others were removed immediately when they were struggling?

Bad coaching! Coach and captain determines who plays...Dravid should step down as Captain but should still be on team...he is a good players just not a good leader.

Its time for Sachin to retire. He has proved that he is a choker. Time to give guys like Kaif, Dinesh Mongia, Powar more opportunities now.

I strongly feel that Pathan and Sreesant should have been played in the matches against Barmuda to see how they perform and if found successful, they could have been included in the match against Sri Lanka. In the match against Bangladesh India played the best bowlder available in the team and hence the team selection for that match cannot be faulted. However, unfortunately the best players did not perform to their potential.

It’s all because of Greig Chappel. He is an Australian and Team Pontng only fears by INDIA. Remember India has breaks his team winning records several times; Consecutive test winning record or consecutive ODI’s.
Chappel has came India to make sure that India doesn’t comes in a way to Australia in winning World Cup. And He is succeeded in that.

Basically you answered your own question. The cricket board and team management are scared of change. They still depend on players who are 30+. You also forgot Dinesh Karthik, who could've replaced MS Dhoni when he was struggling.
