You are either one confused puppy or don't know how to be specific when asking a question. Are we talking about WW2 here? That had little to do with economics outside of the potential loss of trading partners and everything to do with the spread of totalitarianism. Look that word up in your dictionary if you have one. Don't forget England and yes, Russia and France were our allies at the time. Churchill never trusted the Russians, and yet the US was bound by the Lend-Lease act to provide war material to England and eventually to Russia. Many US sailors died helping Russians survive at the time by shipping war material, clothing and food. That act eventually came back to bite us in the form of the cold war thanks to Stalin, but never mind that. When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, Hitler as an ally with them was forced to declare war on the US three days later. That changed the entire perspective because prior to that point, the US was not at war with either Germany or Japan. We had no choice but to go to war. Economic interests had absolutely nothing to do with liberation of Europe unless we aren't referring WW2. Sheesh. Double sheesh.

HUH? What planet do you come from? The red army would not have defeated Nazi Germany alone! What makes you think that Europe would want to live under communism? and in case you have noticed, communism doesn't seem to work very well.

Stalin didn't want any part of war with germany. If Hitler hadn't insisted on invading Russia, Europe would be German property right now. Even that cost Russia 20,000,000 people, give or take a few million.

If it was not for American Equipment from lend and lease the Red Army will be destroyed. You Europeans are lucky that we did not place priority on fighting Japan in WWII.

And just who's interest should they be defending if not their own?
Ever hear of the lend lease act? Probably not, else you would know one of the answers to your own question.

the truth is the USA is just like everyone else, there are no altruistic countries in a national sense, they are all in it for their own self interest, you are going to get a lot of flak for this, people like to believe the USA was involved in WW2 because they are somehow much better than everyone else

We got involved because the europeans were on their hands and knees begging us too. They asked us, not the russians. And helping them didn't exactly do a lot for the world economy.
