It all depends on the fabric of your clothes. A lot of 100% cotton dark-colored clothes will eventually fade if washed in hot water. You could try washing them in warm water with a cold water rinse (which is what I do) or there are several really good cold water detergents on the market - like Tide Cold Water. Hot water is best if you have greasy stains on your clothes, but as a rule, warm water is the norm for washing a load of dirty laundry.

Really depends on if your water is well or city water, Hard or soft. Cold water seems to remove stains and hot will set the stain and ruin your clothes. To cut cost on electric more people are using cold and getting the better detergents. Another hint use a scoop of baking soda in your laundry. Really makes your clothes fresh.

Use cold water to wash everything but whites. If you wash your colours in hot water they will fade fast. But with whites it helps get out more stains if the water is hot.
Also don't forget to check out the laundry isle in your grocery store there are detergents that help you was all your cloths with cold water. This is better because you save money using cold water.

Depends on the type of clothing....check the tag and of course the chart on the washer door.
Actually, from the medical standpoint. People believe hot water disolves germs better. That's a lie. Both cold and hot do about the same job combined with soap.
But if you want a stain out, the hot water is stronger to disolve it but but can ruin some garmets.

As a whole, no. Warm water cleans better than cold water. However, cold water is good sometimes because warm or hot water can be damaging to some fabrics.

Using cold water to wash clothes in is a great energy saver...My dryer is gas and I've noticed my gas bill is a few dollars lower since I started this....Buy the detergents made for cold water...They work pretty good!

Cold water is better for your clothes. It prevents shrinkage and fading. Also, it eliminates the cost of heating the water,
